Amalgam risk assessment study reveals 120+ million exposed to unsafe levels of mercury from fillings
A risk assessment study published in "Science of the Total Environment" found that 120+ million people with amalgam fillings absorb more than the daily "safe dose" of mercury from their fillings when compared to "safe" levels established by CalEPA. Read more
In 2007 the FDA lost a lawsuit which forced them to classify dental amalgam. The final rule of the FDA classification declared mercury amalgam fillings to be safe for anyone and everyone. The IAOMT submitted a petition that outlined the flaws in the rule, which forced the FDA reconvene a panel to look at the safety of dental mercury fillings. Read more
